Reactive Rehab
Reactive Rehab is a structured group training program designed for dogs who
struggle with reactivity toward other dogs, people, or specific environmental triggers. This
specialized class focuses on helping dogs develop better emotional regulation, confidence, and
reliable self-control through controlled exposure, behavioural modification, and practical
management strategies.
Designed specifically for dogs who bark, lunge, growl, freeze, or become overly aroused on
leash, this program provides a supportive and carefully managed training environment where
both dogs and handlers can succeed safely.
Using positive reinforcement and relationship-focused training methods, teams will learn how to
better understand canine body language, recognize stress signals, and navigate challenging
situations more effectively. Throughout the 6-week course, handlers will work through concepts
such as counterconditioning, threshold management, engagement, and calmness around
triggers to help build safer, more successful real-world experiences for both dog and owner.
Class Format:
● 6 week program, 1 hour per week
● 5 dogs per class with 2 instructors
● Week 1 is a lecture, NO DOGS come to class on the first week
● Entry and exit of the classroom is controlled
● Barriers are used to control exposure and maintain thresholds
What to bring:
● MANY treats, including high value treats such as liver, beef lung, cheese, hot
dogs, chicken, etc.
● A regular 4-6 foot leash
● A body or waist leash
● A regular flat collar or head halter
● A harness
